FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything visitors usually ask – in one place.

Do I need to book a table?
We recommend it, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. Book online with the “Book a table” button above or call +370 616 98 496. For a table today, calling is best.
How long is a table held?
Tables are booked for 2 hours. If you’re running late, we hold the booking for 15 minutes.
Can I book a table on the terrace?
Terrace tables can’t be booked – reservations are always inside. If there’s a free table outside when you arrive, you’re welcome to sit there. The terrace is open from May to early October.
What are your opening hours?
Tue–Thu 12.00–22.00, Fri–Sat 12.00–24.00, Sun 12.00–20.00. Closed on Mondays. The kitchen closes an hour earlier: Tue–Thu 21.00, Fri–Sat 23.00, Sun 19.00.
Do you have a lunch menu?
There’s no separate lunch menu, but the whole menu is served all day from 12.00. Most dishes are quick – an hour is plenty.
Is the food very spicy?
No – you choose. Sauces come in separate bowls, and many dishes can be ordered mild, medium or hot. Most of the menu can be eaten with no heat at all.
Do you have vegetarian dishes?
Yes: quesadilla with cactus, Chili Vegetal, nachos with three cheeses, guacamole and vegetable fajita.
I have an allergy – what should I do?
Please tell your waiter – they’ll help you choose.
Is agave a cactus?
No, although many people think so. Like a cactus, agave is a succulent that stores water in its thick leaves, but botanically it is closer to asparagus than to cacti. More than 150 species of agave grow in Mexico. Tequila is made from blue agave, mezcal from other agaves. Our restaurant is named after this plant. Real cacti are in our kitchen too – nopales, the pads of the prickly pear cactus. We marinate them and use them in our Quesadilla with cactus.
Can you welcome wedding guests on your terrace?
Yes. If your wedding is at the Town Hall, we can welcome your guests on our terrace, with a view of the Town Hall. The terrace holds 30–40 guests. We put the snacks together from our menu with you and charge menu prices. The terrace has parasols, and if the rain is very heavy we can move the reception indoors by arrangement. The booking is confirmed once the snacks are agreed and a 30 % deposit is paid; the deposit is non-refundable. Please write at least 2 weeks ahead: info@agave.lt. The terrace is open from May to the beginning of October.
How can I pay?
Cash or card. Tips can be left in cash or by card via GlobalTips – just scan the QR code on the GlobalTips card.
Can I come with children?
Yes, you can come with children. We don’t have a separate children’s menu, but you choose the heat – sauces come in separate bowls, so most of the menu can be eaten with no heat at all. Unfortunately, we don’t have high chairs.
Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?
Because of the old cellar stairs, unfortunately not. In summer, while the terrace is open, we’ll gladly welcome you outside – call us before you come and we’ll do our best to keep a table free.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, you can bring your dog. We only ask that it is friendly and doesn’t bark, and please don’t feed it from your plate – out of respect for our other guests.
Where can I park?
Parking in the Old Town is paid only (Old Town zone, €2 per hour, 24/7). More at parkavimaskaune.lt.
Do you host private events?
Yes – two private rooms for up to 25 and up to 35 guests, plus food, chili, tequila and mezcal, and margarita tastings hosted by chef Rodrigo. The rooms aren’t hired out separately – a room is reserved for your event when you book a dinner or a tasting. Write to info@agave.lt.
Can I order delivery?

Which languages do you speak?
